You Asked, We Answered

How many hours are required to take and pass the UK driving test?

The DVSA recommend appropriately 45 hours tuition with an approved Driving Instructor, combined with around 20 hours of private practice. The reality is that there is no one shoe fits all solution, pupils will learn at there own pace, learning style, confidence level, abilities, and prior experience, this will be different for each pupil. Basically to take and pass the practical driving test, pupils must be able to demonstrate that they can drive safely and responsibly, without the help of their Instructor.

Lesson bookings explained.

This driving school has revised its booking system and now operates on a pay to book system. What that means is that bookings will only be added into the diary once payment is in place to cover that lesson.

Block booking explained.
This allow the pupil to forward book to the full extent of their block booking.
This means for those who have very specific times of of availability, they can ensure that day/time is covered for future lessons.

Pay as you go explained.
Will operate on the pay to book system. however, you may lose out on lessons availability if pupils block book over your preferred slot or normal booking arrangement.

All lessons will be charged at the current rates posted on my website www.philhawksworth.co.uk these payments are subject to periodic changes so please review regularly for updates.

Driving test bookings
Will be made by your Instructor only (Me)! DVSA booking fee is £62.00 and no charge for this service will be charged to the pupil.

Externally booked tests will no longer be accepted by this driving school.

Tests will only be undertaken once the pupil successfully reaches the test requirement standard and is able to demonstrate a drive that dies not involve the guidance and intervention of the Instructor and has successfully passed a minimum of two mock tests.
Try it and see attempts will not be tolerated, any pupil wishing to give it a go, must do so in their own vehicles.
